Annabel's 4th Birthday

I can't believe our sweet little girl is 4 years old!  We began the day by letting her choose what she wanted for breakfast.  She decided on a chocolate chip cookie at Einstein Bagels and that's exactly what she got!  After breakfast she opened up all of her gifts, which took us quite awhile.  We forgot how long it takes to assemble these things.

After playing Barbie, My Little Pony, ect. it was time for her to take a nap.  Yes, she still loves to sleep.  Cake was the next important thing on the list.
After eating princess cake and ice cream we finished out the day by swimming in the pool.  Needless to say, the kids slept great that night.  The fun continued on Sunday where we went to the park to play and to ride bikes.
Once again, we swam for a good part of the day.  Annabel had a great birthday weekend and thanks everyone for the wonderful gifts!

Disney on Ice

For part of Annabel's birthday celebration we took the kids to see Disney on Ice on 4/19.  She mostly wanted to see the princesses and, luckily, all of her favorite ones were there.  Even though it was 2 hours long, we all enjoyed the show and even Gabrielle did pretty good.
Waiting patiently for the show to start

Tooth Fairy

Maxwell had another visit from the Tooth Fairy Saturday night.  This time she left fairy dust all over his bed!  Ok, I sprinkled gold glitter all over his bed, and I HATE glitter!  What we will do for our children...
Lost 3 teeth so far!

Bowling

Today we went to a bowling birthday party at Sunset Lanes.  Maxwell and Annabel went sporting their bowling shirts that still fit them from Maxwell's party in 2010!  Ok, Maxwell's is a little small on him so we added the "wife beater" under it so he didn't have to button it up.  The kids had a blast bowling with their friends.

Happy Easter!

Easter weekend 2012 was a fun one!  Maxwell hadn't ridden his bike much since camping a few weeks ago, so he was a little reluctant to get back to it.  We decided to find a place that wasn't hilly or concrete to make his attempts safer and easier.  A local unoccupied baseball field was the perfect location.  After one minor fall he seemed to have gotten it and was riding around the infield with a proud smile on his face.  Then it was on to the UNLV Rebels baseball game.  A perfect day for baseball, sunny and calm.  The Rebels didn't do so hot, but the kids got to visit with the Easter Bunny and Annabel got her face painted.  We did get a foul ball, but not the usual way.  It rolled right in front of us on the way to the bathroom.  After the game our afternoon at home was filled with numerous Easter egg hunts in the house and courtyard.  Great fun for the kids!  Easter morning was an early one, I think they woke us about 6am.  Ugh!  But they were so excited we couldn't get them back to bed so it was time to find the baskets of toys and candy.  Always fun to see kids eat jelly beans and chocolate before breakfast.  After more bike riding, an Easter egg hunt at the neighbors and a nice ham dinner the night ended with a swim in the hot tub.  A great weekend for all.

The flowers bloom for only about a week on this plant
Easter egg hunts ALL weekend!
Having fun coloring Easter eggs!
Not the best looking Easter bunny, but Easter bunny nonetheless!  (Annabel was scared)

Pinterest-inspired ideas

Maxwell & Annabel had fun putting the peeps in the vase.  The print shown was a free download.

Maxwell & Annabel helped me wrap a styrofoam wreath in pink ribbon and we hot glued Easter eggs onto it.  I only burned myself a couple of times!

The kids "planted" jelly beans on Saturday evening and on Sunday morning...lollipops grew!

Kettlemuck's Toy Shoppe

During Spring Break I wanted to do some different and fun things with the kids.  I have known about this toy store that is right down the road, but I have never been to it.  I just figured it would be over priced toys that my kids would want and then play with for 5 minutes.  Well, I was wrong.  This place was awesome!  No Batteries Policy.  They have lots and lots of animals, books, little trinkets...I could go on, but I think you get the point.  The best part of the store is they have a huge sand pit that is made of recycled plastic milk containers.  For a small fee, you get to dig for "treasure".  Maxwell and Annabel had a blast doing this.  Annabel's favorite part was the talking tree.  She just could not figure out how this tree was talking and singing songs.

Where was this place when Maxwell was infatuated with animals?

Gabrielle's new car seat

It was finally time...Gabrielle was just too big for her infant car seat.  We got Gabrielle her very own "big girl" car seat and she loves it!
